IHM Lucknow Senior Lecturer and Office Superintendent Recruitment 2026

The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Lucknow, has invited applications from eligible Indian citizens under Advertisement No. IHMLKO-03/2026. The recruitment is for a Senior Lecturer and an Office Superintendent, with eligibility and appointment terms varying by post.

There are two vacancies in total: one ST-reserved Senior Lecturer position for direct recruitment and one UR Office Superintendent position on a short-term contract. Educational Qualification

Senior Lecturer: Applicants need a postgraduate degree in Hospitality or Tourism, or an MBA from a recognised university or institute. They must also hold a full-time degree or a full-time three-year diploma in Hotel Administration, Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Hospitality Administration, Culinary Arts or Culinary Science, with at least 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade. The relevant qualification must be from an NCHMCT or NCHMCT-affiliated institute; an AICTE-approved institute; an institute approved by a State Board of Technical Education; a UGC-recognised university or its affiliated institute; a Central, State or Deemed University recognised by UGC; or a foreign institution whose equivalent qualification is recognised by AIU. A Ph.D. and research publications in reputed journals are desirable.

Senior Lecturer candidates must also satisfy one of the two experience routes. The first requires at least 10 years of combined teaching and hotel-industry experience, including at least three years teaching as a Lecturer or equivalent at an institute affiliated with NCHMCT, AICTE, a State Board of Technical Education or a recognised university. Alternatively, candidates need at least 10 years of combined teaching and industry experience, including three years in a supervisory role in a 3-star, Heritage or higher-category approved hotel and at least three years of teaching and training experience.

Office Superintendent: Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university and at least five years of administrative and establishment experience at Pay Level 6 or above. Experience in a Government Department, Autonomous Body or educational institution is preferred. Candidates also need working knowledge of office procedures, noting and drafting, record management, establishment matters and computer applications. Retired personnel may apply if they meet the stated conditions.

Age Limit

The maximum age is 45 years for Senior Lecturer and 65 years for Office Superintendent. Age is assessed as of 15 November 2026. The upper age limit for Senior Lecturer is relaxable by five years for SC/ST and departmental candidates; relaxation for other eligible categories is as prescribed by the Government of India. Candidates should check the notification for any further applicable age conditions.

Application Fee

The application processing fee depends on the applicant’s category. A separate fee is required for each post when applying for more than one position. Applicants should follow the payment instructions supplied with the prescribed application form.

How to Apply

1. Visit the official IHM Lucknow website and locate Advertisement No. IHMLKO-03/2026 and its prescribed application form. The recruitment notification PDF is also available online.
2. Read the advertisement and form instructions carefully, then complete the form with your personal details, date of birth, category, qualifications, work experience and contact information.
3. Attach a recent passport-size photograph and self-attested copies of relevant certificates and supporting records. Prepare educational certificates and mark sheets, experience certificates, category certificate if applicable, date-of-birth and identity proof, and other relevant testimonials.
4. Pay the applicable processing fee as directed in the application form. Include the payment proof where required. If applying for both posts, pay a separate fee for each application.
5. Send the completed application and enclosures by Speed Post to: The Principal, Institute of Hotel Management, Sector-G, Aliganj, Lucknow – 226024, Uttar Pradesh. Clearly write “Application for the Post of ______” on the envelope, specifying the post applied for.
6. Ensure that the application reaches the institute on or before 2 December 2026. Incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline will not be entertained.

Applicants employed in Government, Semi-Government organisations, Autonomous Bodies, Public Sector Undertakings, Statutory Bodies, universities or other Government-funded institutions must apply through the proper channel, although they may send an advance copy. They must provide a No Objection Certificate from their current employer at document verification or interview. They must also submit duly attested APARs/ACRs for the preceding five years, from 2020–21 onward, and a Vigilance Clearance Certificate issued by the competent authority of their parent organisation.

Salary & Pay Scale

The Senior Lecturer post carries Pay Level 10 under the 7th Central Pay Commission, with a pay scale of 56100 to 177500. The Office Superintendent post is contractual and pays a consolidated 42720 per month. The notification states that the posts are non-pensionable, while the National Pension System applies in accordance with Government of India rules. Usual allowances admissible to Central Government employees stationed at Lucknow are also mentioned in the advertisement.

Selection Process

Selection arrangements depend on the post. Senior Lecturer applicants will be assessed through a personal interview. Office Superintendent applicants will be required to take a written test and, if selected for the next stage, attend an interview.
